We will spend some time looking together at some issues that have special significance for the Central Asian region. Attendees will have the opportunity to share their experience and wisdom on a selection of matters pertaining to the role of Western believers visiting or living in the region. What is the role of Western missionaries living in the region? Is it ever appropriate to send short term teams to Central Asia? What do those from Western ‘guilt and innocence’ societies fundamentally need to understand about living and presenting the gospel in ‘honour and shame’ societies? Work will be done at and after the event to collate the findings for future reference.
Join us for a day of networking, prayer, news and discussion, a time for shared learning around issues on Central Asia. Bringing people from all corners of the network and beyond, together we will explore God's mission, looking closely at the challenges and successes that arise in these difficult countries.
Our speakers will bring us up-to-date news, presentations, reflections, and some thoughts about the future. Our topic for the next meeting will be confirmed in the next weeks.
Payment of the £15 fee (for both members and non-members of GC) is required in advance, when booking, to help to cover the cost of the venue and other expenses. Drinks will be provided (from 11.30am) but please bring your own lunch.
