Reflecting on 2020: Looking in, out and up.

2020 will be remembered for the pandemic, Black Lives Matter and Brexit. 2020 brought losses, grief, financial problems, lockdown, loneliness, missing loved ones, disappointments, cancellations, home-schooling, anxiety, depression and travel problems. Short-term overseas trips were cancelled and some short-term mission programmes have closed completely. There were also positive times – perhaps more time to rest, listen to God and enjoy family. There were many acts of kindness, and community support. And we used Zoom (you can decide whether that is a positive or a negative!)

In this event, there will be time to:

Look inward: Tony Horsfall will help us reflect on how 2020 has impacted us, the care providers

Look outward: Hear research on how 2020 impacted mission families (Gill Bryant)

Look upward: Listen to what God is saying as we move forward (with a reflection led by Tony Horsfall)

Practical details:

  • The event starts at 10.00am, but please start 'arriving' from 9:45am so we can admit everyone in time for a prompt 10:00am start.
  • You will receive the invitation and password for the webinar in the confirmation email upon booking - please keep an eye on your emails (including your spam or junk mail folders). A reminder will be sent out by 5pm on Wednesday 3rd March.

Booking is essential

The cost is £15 to people from GC member agencies and churches, and for students. Cost for non-members is £45. If you are not sure if your church or organisation is a member of GC, please check with them to confirm or see if they feature on our List of Members page.

Cancellation Policy: 50% of the booking charge will be refunded if cancellation is made at least one week prior to the event. For cancellations made less than one week prior to the event, we regret that a refund will not be possible.
