Who is it for?

This forum brings together a wide variety of people - member care providers, sending agencies, sending and receiving churches, mental health professionals and people with an interest in helping and encouraging the support, care, education and training of Third Culture Kids (TCKs). The forum provides access to resources and usually meets twice annually. It also arranges occasional 24-hour residential conferences, retreats, and informal support groups. (The Forum has close links to Member Care Europe and the European TCK Network).

What is its focus and what issues have we covered?

The forum's main focus is to help senders improve the care and development of their mission partners around the world, and helping and encouraging the support, care, education and training of TCKs. Past topics explored have included culturally diverse practice, sudden repatriation, challenges surrounding re-entry, ageing and retirement, member care from a distance, and raising children in restricted societies. The forum also provides advice on many areas, such as access to education and settling back into the UK.

Who is on the planning team?

The Chair of the planning team is Ian Orton (OM). Other members include Sarah Hay (European Christian Mission International), Steve Bryant (WEC International), Rebecca de Vos (WEC International) and Yolanda Jerrard (New Tribes Mission). The Forum is administered by Elliot Carey (Global Connections).

European TCK Network

EuroTCK is a Christian faith based pan-European working group for those interested in TCK issues. It is a sub-network of the European Evangelical Mission Association (EEMA) and comes under their structure and authority.

Member Care Europe

Member Care Europe is committed to working together on behalf of the cross-cultural Christian missions community by helping to provide and develop member care resources within/from Europe.

Rekonnect camps

These Rekonnect camps offer children and teenagers five fun-filled days with others who have lived overseas and now find themselves back in the UK. There are camps for those aged 6-12 (Rekonnect kids) and those who are 13-18 (Rekonnect teens).
