(Full-time or two part-time roles when fulfilled as a job share)
Do you want to help Baptist Churches engage with God’s mission throughout the world? Can you help BMS World Mission continue to make Jesus known, and improve the quality of life for thousands of people? If you want to play your part in connecting and enthusing churches with Jesus’ global mission, working with a large team of volunteers, then we want to hear from you!
We’re looking for a Church Engagement Manager to nurture and strengthen relationships with churches so we can see more communities transformed in Jesus’ name. You should be an enthusiastic advocate for mission, focusing on personal and regular interactions through visits, conference attendance, speaking engagements, calls, and emails. Managing a network of over 2,000 representatives, advocates, and volunteer speakers, you are the key to lead, train, equip, and enthuse them with the help of a dedicated team. You will also lead the Church Engagement Team, which has currently two part-time administrators who are responsible for setting up church partnerships with mission workers, organising home assignments of mission workers, and arranging speaking engagements.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build meaningful relationships between BMS and churches, have a strong commitment to outstanding supporter care, have excellent strategic thinking and organisational skills, and be proactive and computer literate. You will have a global vision, a heart for mission and be passionate about the role of the UK church in a growing world church. This is a varied and rewarding role.
This role could be full-time or two part-time roles (0.5 FTE) sharing this role as a job share to cover the week.
The successful applicant will be a committed Christian. The nature of this role means that this is a specific occupational requirement. This role would also be considered as a qualifying office for accredited ministers according to the Ministerial Recognition Rules of Baptists Together.
Location: Didcot, Oxfordshire. This role can be office-based or hybrid but the role holder must be based in the United Kingdom, with regular UK travel.
We are happy to appoint a candidate who lives too far from Didcot to attend the office regularly, if they are able to be flexible to come to Didcot as required. The cost of travel to BMS Didcot whether on a regular basis or infrequently, would be borne by the employee.
