Pray for Junette Galagala-Nacion, from the Philippines, who is studying for a PhD in Edinburgh. Pray for continued good progress on her thesis, on the topic of Christian identity.

Praise God for Liz and Malcolm McGregor’s faithful service as Scholar Care Coordinators for a number of years. Please pray that they will enjoy their retirement and know God’s blessing.

In March (21st) supporters in the UK and Ireland are being invited to visit the Langham Service Centre (pictured) for an exciting day to see some of Langham’s ministry “up close”, speak to staff and share fellowship together. Rev Dr Chris Wright will also speak during a special celebration service. Please pray that many people will attend and be encouraged and inspired.

Pray for the impact of recently published book, 'Light in the valley of the shadow of death', a collection of twelve stories by Ukrainian Christians from different spheres of life. They share responses to the challenges of war and give testimony to the light and healing they have encountered. The book was edited by Langham’s Roman Soloviy.

Keep praying for the revised edition of the Africa Bible Commentary, which was finally released globally in November. After a delay, thousands of copies arrived at the LSC in Carlisle to be shipped to Africa and elsewhere. Praise God for this milestone and pray that many believers will use and be blessed by this new resource.

Bolivia: Training for new small preaching group coordinators and refresher training for current small preaching group coordinators will take place with sessions on Saturday the 17th in Oruro, Saturday the 24th in Cochabamba, and Saturday the 31st in Santa Cruz. This training will be facilitated by Igor and Esteban Améstegui. Approximately 15 people are expected to participate. Following the graduations held in 2025, a new training programme will also begin this year. Please pray that the training of new coordinators will bear fruit and that new small preaching groups may be established under the guidance of our Lord.

United Arab Emirates: The MENA region is launching its first training for Arabic-speaking diaspora in the Emirates. Youssef Samir, Remonda Nathan, Jan Emil and Maggy Samir will lead a Level 1 for 30 participants. Please pray that this will be the beginning of a training hub serving Arabic-speaking people across the Gulf region. Please pray for the participants—that God would strengthen their passion to serve Him and their commitment to developing their ministries—and for safe travels, wisdom, and grace for the facilitators.

In the final week of January we pray for South Sudan, officially the world’s most fragile country. Please pray for: 1) Our partners seeking to support families in the disputed border region of Abyei 2) Better access to quality education for more children 3) More resources for our partners at Thurlith School 4) The large number of unaccompanied children in the area, and for success in reuniting them with safe families 5) More stability, an end to conflict.

From the 18th January, we celebrate the International Day of Education (24th) by praying for formal and informal education projects around the world. Please pray for a successful 2026 for: 1) Calcutta Emmanuel School, India, (CES) and Spurgeons Academy, Kenya - formal schools facing rising costs, staff turnover, curriculum and other challenges 2) The Graveyard Preschool in Cambodia, the Hope Centre in Syria, the GCare Centres in Patripul, the Morning Star Care Centre in Sri Lanka - all providing informal education 3) Pray for quality education for all.

From the 11th January, we pray for our work at the Hope Centre, in Damascus, Syria. Please pray for: 1) Wisdom and energy for Afaf and the team at the Hope Centre 2) The counsellors working with children who have suffered so much trauma through the chaos and conflict of the last 14 years 3) Peace and joy for the children at the Hope Centre, progress in learning and healing of emotional wounds 4) Positive relationships with families and local authorities 5) Protection in an unstable region.

In the first ten days of January we pray for our '50 miles' January walking challenge, raising funds for our work in Myanmar. Please pray for: 1) New & better donor relationships through the 50 miles challenge 2) A good start to fundraising in 2026 3) Safety and protection for our partner DS, travelling in Myanmar 4) Improved opportunities for young people in minority ethnic areas like Kayah and Karen States 5) Peace with justice in Myanmar resources and support for village primary teachers 6) safety for secondary students living away from home to study
