Description
Are you a passionate Christian who is willing to work alongside the indigenous peoples of Latin America?
Are you passionate about people’s rights?
Do you want to work towards a more just society?
Do you long to serve together with systemically marginalised peoples?
Do you want to help others released to fulfil their potential in God’s mission?
We are looking for a passionate Christian who is willing to work alongside the indigenous peoples of Latin America. CMS has a long history of serving some of the indigenous peoples in Latin America, including the Mapuche in Chile; Wichí, Toba, Chorote in Northern Argentina and Enxet in Paraguay. CMS feels called to enter a new stage of that work and we want you to join us in this developing mission.
Your professional background and specific qualifications are of secondary importance to us.
What is crucial is that you see opportunities where others don’t; you have a mature and living relationship with Jesus; you have experience of engaging with marginalised people and are used to working on the edges of the mainstream; are a team player and are prepared to learn a new language (or two).
Church Mission Society places individuals, couples and families in over 45 countries around the world as we follow Jesus to the edges. Our placements are self-funding with extensive support in fundraising given to those who serve long-term (four years or longer). All placements are subject to our safer recruitment procedures, including DBS clearance. Church Mission Society is only able to directly test the calling of those who are rooted in UK/European churches
