Trinidad and Tobago
International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES) movements in the Caribbean often support outreach in many schools, both secondary and primary. Praise God for good relationships with local authorities and for Christian teachers who provide the opportunity for such groups to exist. Give thanks for older pupils who serve as leaders in the groups, and pray for those in their final year as they prepare to make the transition into tertiary education. As many end up studying far from home, it can be a challenging time for young Christians and connecting with the IFES ministry in their college or university can be an important factor in whether they continue to follow Christ.
The islands of Trinidad and Tobago are bursting with tropical vibrancy in both landscape and culture. A nation with a celebrated fusion of cultures, Trinidad and Tobago is also an economic success in a region where poverty and financial depression are all too common. However, ethnic tensions between the many communities on the islands have led to some becoming isolated or fractured and there is little cooperation between churches. Nevertheless, give thanks for the period of relative stability that has allowed people to prosper. Pray also for the leaders of the nation, that they would be fair with people from all backgrounds.
