Vision and Strategy
A closer look at the vision that drives everything that we do.
Together for the future of mission
Connecting and equipping the UK church and mission community in a changing world.
We trust that God has a great future for the UK mission community and churches, and we seek to serve all to be faithful and relevant wherever God calls us. As we continue to be involved in mission day by day, we will also have a keen eye on current and future trends so that we can shift and change, and find our unique place in what God is doing around the world.
Secondly, we believe that collectively, we are better together. God calls all of us as followers of Jesus the Son, to participate in his mission all around us - in our families, in our communities, and in the entire world. As such, our “together” is expansive. It includes mission agencies, colleges, churches, and individuals. It also includes local and diaspora Christians. It must also include those focusing on mission at home and in Europe as well as those working in other parts of the world. The future of mission needs us to work together.
To help to focus our efforts, the activities of Global Connections all fall within one of the following four organisational objectives:
- Connect - help the network build and strengthen relationships and develop collaborative partnerships across organisations, nationalities, and mission fields for the sake of prayer, mutual learning, and sharing of resources.
- Explore - engage with the network in critical, reflective and fruitful conversations about the future of mission, in the context of world Christianity, and the role of the UK mission community in it.
- Equip - prepare and equip members for both local and global mission through the sharing of experience, best practice, and helpful resources.
- Inspire - inspire, encourage, and motivate followers of Christ in the UK to participate in God's mission through relevant Christian ministry and service, both locally and globally.
Basis of the network
As a network, we require our members and affiliates to agree to the statements outlined in our Basis of Faith and Basis of Cooperation.
