Description
At UCB we believe that everyone who works, volunteers or interacts with us has the right to do so in a safe and secure environment. Everyone at UCB, whether staff or volunteers, is responsible for health and safety and we are looking for someone who is willing to help us deliver a people centric, first-class health & safety service, working closely with all functions and especially closely with the Facilities & Hospitality teams across both our Burslem and Hanchurch sites.
Attitude and gifting is more important than experience as training will be provided. The successful candidate will ensure that the health and safety management system is meeting legal requirements and that risk controls are in place and effective. This will include supporting and advising colleagues on health and safety best practice. This role will also cover some other governance matters in the same capacity.
You will need to be well organised and able to prioritise a busy work schedule, use your initiative as well as working well within a team. Ideally you will already have some experience in operating health & safety systems; however, training will be provided. It is essential to have good communication skills both verbal and written as you will liaise with staff, volunteers and contractors and you should be confident in the use of a computer. You must have a full driving licence as our site at Hanchurch is not serviced by regular public transport.
This position will be based at our Operations Centre, Westport Road, Burslem, Stoke on Trent ST6 4JF and our Broadcast Centre, Hanchurch Lane, Hanchurch, Stoke on Trent ST4 8RY
