ABOUT GFA WORLD
Since 1979, we have been committed to serving the “least of these” in Asia and Africa, often in places where no one else is serving, so that those still waiting can experience the love of God for the first time. We are a Christian Missions Order, partnered with National Missionaries serving as the hands and feet of Christ in Asia and Africa, through sponsoring these National Missionaries to minister to people’s needs, sponsoring children, investing in community development and helping families in need of care or during disasters.
Our desire is to see communities across the world transformed with God’s love, and we believe the Church is God’s original and most long-lasting mission agency.
As a Christian Missions Order our staff are required to be living a Christian lifestyle, as each member is expected to participate in, and sometimes lead during, our times of prayer. We function more like a community than just being an office, and staff are encouraged to think of each other as fellow community members doing life together. Staff are also encouraged to live simply, as if camping here on earth before reaching our home in Heaven, and to look to lay up treasure in Heaven rather than amass wealth on earth.
Our mission and Core Values make us who we are.
OUR MISSION
To be devout followers of Christ and to fulfil His Great Commission amongst people still waiting to hear His name for the first time... by training up, sending out, and assisting qualified labourers in partnership with the body of Christ.
OUR CORE VALUES
- Knowing the lord Jesus more fully & intimately
- Being a people of integrity and excellence
- Living in submission to God’s word
- Being a people of faith
- Being a people committed to prayer & worship
- Having a servant lifestyle
- Being a people of grace & love
- Serving sacrificially
- Being a people sold out to win the lost at any cost
- Working together with the body of Christ
WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS
Our ministry is growing fast on the mission field and we want our support capabilities here in the UK to keep up with it.
Today one of the most important tools in God's work is Information Technology, and at GFA World we see massive potential to improve and increase our impact on the lost and suffering.
We are a small team, and someone with experience managing IT for an organisation will help take our ministry to the next level, enabling us to serve God and reach the poor in an increasingly powerful way.
Today thousands of people in the world will die without ever having had a chance to hear of Jesus' love for them, and we exist to give more people that chance before it's too late.
In this role you will enable GFA World to increases it's capacity as the vital link between the church in the UK and the mission fields of Asia and Africa.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
You will learn and maintain GFA World's IT systems and security, and provide IT support. You will continually brainstorm ways to improve and streamline. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Systems Networking
• CRM Management
• Managing Microsoft Systems
• App Development
• Corporate Prayer
Systems Networking
Our office is networked from our server room through switches and ports, but requires re-configuring and
maintenance. You will learn our workflow and future plans to stay up to date with the needs. These will
change as we grow our team and you will continually adapt the network arrangement to suit.
CRM Management
You will learn the functions of our CRM, Donorfy, and become an expert in it. You will learn what our processes
need from Donorfy. You will provide tech support for it, as well as continually look for ways to improve it's
effectiveness for our goals. You will work with plug-ins and APIs to connect Donorfy with other systems. You will liaise with Donorfy as needed.
Managing Microsoft Systems
We use Sharepoint as our intranet, and Office 365 as our primary productivity suite. You will learn our workflow methods and needs. You will provide tech support for users of Microsoft systems and continually seek out ways to improve how we use Microsoft. You will liaise with Microsoft where needed.
App Development
We are developing an app to help send and receive scans of letters from sponsored children and from their sponsors. It is in C#. You will project manage the development of this app to full function. You will help us plan further apps to help our work in the future.
Corporate Prayer
Our fifth Core Value is "Being A People Committed To Prayer And Worship", and GFA World started with a Tuesday Night Prayer Meeting. It is fuelled by prayer, and would die out without it. We maintain this tradition and require all staff to take part in praying for the needs of a dying world, to ensure we are always depending upon the Holy Trinity for grace for His work.
ABOUT THE APPLICANT
We recognise that, to be great at your role, there are certain characteristics that are important and others that enable a good fit within our existing team and culture. But if you don’t meet them, get in touch anyway! you may be more awesome that you realise.
• You are a practising Christian who reads the Bible and has attended a local church for at least 3 years
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• You have over 3 years' experience as an IT manager for a small company
• You enjoy IT
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• You’d like to make a difference for people in other countries, even though you may never meet them in person
• You don’t feel a call to go to the mission field yourself, but you desire to use your time on Earth to help people know Jesus, from an office here in England
NOTE: As a result of our Christian ethos, this post is covered by an Occupational Requirement (OR) under Part 1 of Schedule 9 to the Equality Act 2010. The successful applicant will be expected to:
• be a practising Christian, and current active membership of a local church
• subscribe to our statement of faith and the Nicene Creed (see end of doc)
• demonstrate a personal commitment to our Mission and Core Values

GFA WORLD’S STATEMENT OF FAITH
WE BELIEVE:
• That the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God, given to us by the Church – “the pillar and ground of the truth” (1 Timothy 3:15).
• The Nicene Creed to be the official Creed of the Holy Church.
• In one God, Creator of all things, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and that these three are co-eternal and of equal dignity and power.
• In the deity of Jesus Christ; His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit; His virgin birth; His sinless life; His death on a cross; His bodily resurrection; His ascension to the right hand of the Father; and His personal, imminent return.
• That man was created by and for God; that by man’s disobeying God, every person incurred spiritual death, which meant they were no longer in communion with God, and physical death was the consequence; and that all people are given the option of being redeemed and restored to God.
• The Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins and that all who believe in Him are declared righteous because of His victory over death and are, therefore, in right relationship with God.
• Salvation means far more than being “saved from sin; we are saved for sonship, to be divinely adopted sons and daughters of God. Forgiveness is the precondition for God’s greater gift, the gift that will last beyond our death: the gift of divine life” (1 Corinthians 15:3-7).
• Believers in Christ are destined to share in the life of the Holy Trinity. Sharing in the life of God, as God has shared in our humanity (1 Peter 1:4).
• In the present ministry of the Holy Spirit indwelling all believers and thus enabling and empowering the life and ministry of the believer.
• In the bodily resurrection of everyone who has lived, the everlasting blessedness of those in right relationship with God, and eternal separation for those who have rejected God’s forgiveness in His Son.
• The sacrament of marriage to be ordained by God as a holy union between one man and one woman as biologically defined at birth.
