As Spurgeon’s College enters its 169th year of ministry, we continue to play a significant role in the life of the Baptist Union and theological education in the UK and beyond. Having been awarded Degree Awarding Powers and the power to validate other institutions in 2022, the College has exciting and diverse plans for its future. We are now seeking a visionary and committed Christian leader to become our new Director of Ministerial Formation and Development.
Spurgeon’s College was founded in 1856 by Charles Haddon Spurgeon and has a worldwide reputation for excellence in Christian theological education. We are based in South London and serve a diverse, global student body. We are a Christ-centred, evangelical college in the Baptist tradition with a national reach and international impact.
The Director of Ministerial Formation and Development will oversee, guide and deliver the College’s ministerial formation, training and education programmes. The role includes teaching ministerial units, coordinating student placements, liaising with Baptist Union and Association partners, and ensuring the highest ministerial standards are met. As a key member of the Senior Management Team, the Director will contribute to the strategic development and academic leadership of the College.
