Trustee
Posted on 21 November 2025 by Transform Europe Network
Description
Transform Europe Network (TEN) invites applications to join its board of trustees from individuals who share our passion for the growth of God's Kingdom. TEN's vision is to transform lives with the good news of Jesus Christ through compassion, evangelism and church planting, and we do this by serving alongside indigenous Christians in Eastern Europe and the Balkans. Being a Christian charity, we would seek individuals who share our faith and values, and who also bring an understanding of the responsibilities of trusteeship.
Some of the key qualities that we seek would therefore include:
- A clear interest and understanding of TEN's cause
- A heart for Jesus and seeing God's Kingdom grow around the world
- An understanding of the legal responsibilities of a charity trustee
- Specific experience or skills in one or more of the following areas: legal, safeguarding, HR, finance
- The personality to work as part of the trustee team and with key management members
Support for New Trustees
We recognise that joining a board can feel daunting, especially for first-time trustees. To help you settle into your role, each new trustee can be paired with an experienced trustee mentor who will:
- Provide guidance and answer questions as you learn the role
- Offer support between board meetings
- Help you navigate board processes and understand how decisions are made
- Be a friendly point of contact as you become familiar with TEN's work
Time Commitment
The trustee board meets at least four times a year, alternating between physical meetings at the TEN office in Bristol and online meetings, as well as for strategy days once a year. We also meet online occasionally for ad hoc discussions of matters that need board input. Outside of meetings, trustees receive papers to review—typically requiring a few hours of preparation time before each board meeting.
Term of Service
A trustee is appointed for a term of four years and can serve a maximum of three terms (twelve years). Ideally, a board member would stay for at least one term.
