Afghanistan

We are attempting to set up 4 looms in central Afghanistan to provide food and school for believing families. A new school has been started in an eastern province but is overwhelmed by the need and applicants. Pray for new buildings to be available.

Our Afghan widow's coordinator is visiting widows who have started with our loom project. They make carpets, sell them and care for their children. All for the glory of God. Pray for a people movement to start.

Our team in Afghanistan report growing success in carpet making by widows. These loom teams will form the basis of church growth as they mature over time. Books in Dari are underway to provide content in faith. EEF has launched a new web based library of Faith Incarnate to help show emerging new churches through papers on non building based congregations. From NT studies including Paul and early churches and histories of Celtic, China. African , Methodism etc models. Farid our Afghan directory is calling the Brazilian church to get involved in prayer, sending, sponsoring and project development.

Afghanistan is going through deep waters. Poverty, hunger, earthquakes and a pariah status impacts the poor . Pray as we equip women with looms to create carpets and make a living. Pray for our registration as an NGO in Kabul in order to be more effective in serving this great country.

An Afghan family who was able to gain Canadian citizenship is building a women's prayer network to increase prayer for widows who are in a desperate situation, no schools, no food, no husbands, no food and no work. Pray as the wife returns to build links with widows. Please pray as they seek to equip these Afghan widows with carpet weaving looms to be able to support their families.

Pray for the women of Afghanistan. Many are suffering with depression and other mental health issues. Pray that many women would find support throughout Afghan partner’s mental health and livelihood groups.

We are hosting an Afghan couple who fled from Afghanistan.They are now residents of Canada and through the internet are pastoring many new believers back at home. Pray for Afghanistan, as spiritually it is rich but materially impoverished.

Twelve young men went to Korea to study for three years and returned to serve the Lord in Afghanistan. Recently two were killed by the Taliban and their families had to flee for safety. Pray for funds for food and rent in another city without their father.

Several children have died of hunger in the community we have been helping in Afghanistan. Please pray for the resolution of the oppression as Syria has shown the possibility of change.
