Tibet
Broadcasting to a mainly Buddhist population, where evangelism is very hard, Gawelyon Radio’s programmes CDs and literature help listeners consider social and spiritual change, as well as offering practical advice and teaching about the Christian faith. Over the Christmas season, the team will be broadcasting a series of special, gospel-based programmes. Please pray that hearts will be open to hear the good news of our saviour Jesus and the purpose of His coming to earth. (John 12 v 46)
Rongba Amdo Tibetans: The Rongba Amdo live in the Tibetan regions of China and adhere to Tibetan Buddhism. There are only a few Christians among the Rongba Amdo (0.01% of the population) and they have historically proven to be a difficult group to reach with the gospel. Pray for a breakthrough among them, and that God will draw attention to what is different in the Christians they encounter.
Ersu people of China: The Ersu people number around 44,000 in the People’s Republic of China and are 98% Buddhist. Though they are included by the Chinese Government as part of the Tibetan nationality, they want to be recognised as a separate minority. There is no record of a church or Christian believers among the Ersu. If there have been in the past, they are known only to God. Pray for God to change that by giving someone a heart for these people!
In a country where evangelism is not welcomed, Gaweylon Radio broadcasts to a mainly Buddhist population. We give thanks for the God-given opportunities to broadcast Gaweylon programmes three days a week on shortwave radio to people living in areas that are largely unreached by the gospel. Please pray that the reception will continue to be clear and easily received by listeners, despite the fact the signal has to cover a very large area, including the mountainous region of Tibet. (Mark 16:15)
