Suicide rates among indigenous communities in Arnhem Land, Australia can be high. Please pray that those suffering from poor mental health will experience God’s peace, discover Jesus for themselves, and live joyful lives as children of light (Ephesians 5 v 8).

MAF is working with the Tribal Foundation and Bread for the World in Papua New Guinea to deliver a community training programme seeking to prevent gender-based violence. Pray that those affected by violence will find healing, dignity and their true value in Christ.

MAF recently flew a team of missionaries from KuLIT and Wycliffe Timor-Leste to deliver the Book of Ruth in the Mambae dialect to Same. This is the first book of the Bible to be translated into this dialect. The translators are hoping to work on the Gospel of Mark next, pray that it won’t be long before it is also available, and that people will be hungry to read more of God’s Word.

Suriname has seen unusually heavy rainfall since January this year, which has caused riverbanks to burst, flooding dozens of villages across the country. MAF has joined forces with National Coordination Centre for Disaster Relief – Suriname’s national disaster response agency – in a bid to distribute food aid to people cut off by the floods. Pray that those affected by the flooding will be able to recover quickly and that the Lord will provide for their every need.
