About

Fields of Life is a Christian, international charity focused on giving young people in East Africa education, skills, and opportunity.

Headquartered in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, Fields of Life operates in Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and South Sudan. Fields of Life seeks to transform the lives of the most vulnerable and marginalised people in East Africa through the provision of quality education, clean water, health promotion and other community-based programmes.

Our vision is to see skilled and educated young people, inspired by faith, hope, and love, transforming their communities. It is our passionate desire to see local churches and partners in East Africa strengthened and empowered to be the drivers of change in their own communities, so that children especially are nurtured and developed to realise their potential by bringing hope and a future to their nations.

To date, with thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we have managed to complete the construction of 128 schools and drill over 800 wells providing safe clean drinking water to hundreds of thousands of people.  In excess of 90,000 children now attend a Fields of Life supported schools, providing a quality education, guidance, and real hope for the future development of whole communities.  We provide WASH training, and operate an I AM GIRL project to help empower girls to complete their education, while our child sponsorship programme ensures that the most vulnerable children have the opportunity to attend school and learn vital skills to help them break out of the poverty cycle.

In 2022 we are launching a new 5 year strategy seeking to positively impact hundredds of thousands of the most vulnerable and marginalised people in East Africa and to see their lives transformed. As an organisation we will be focusing on the following strategic aims over the next five years: Investing In Young People, Promoting Health and Well-being, Creating Opportunities and Growing the Family.
