A short-term mission in Italy offers a learning opportunity: learning from local believers about what serving God means in a different culture with very few Protestants, as well as learning about yourself and how you can serve God in different ways.

The possibilities for ministry include literature distribution, children's work (including camps), university ministry (also in English), community outreach and education, and practical work.

There is much more that could be done; the programme depends also on the gifts and interests of the person who comes.

ECM currently has church planting ministries in Montichiari (province of Brescia) . We are looking for people to start new church plants in the area between Montichiari and Trento, especially around Lake Garda. The current team of ECM missionaries know this area well and have built contacts. Yet, there are many towns with no known evangelical witness. You could either work alone, supported (at a distance of 30-60 km) by ECM missionaries and churches that we're in contact with, or work together with one of the current church planting teams. You would need to raise up prayer for the town you settle in, start to make contacts and then start Bible studies before pioneering a new church plant. It would be possible to be bi-vocational, combining your mission work with a local job if you are able to find employment in the area.
