Leaving space for God to do the miracle
The desire to serve the wider kingdom is at the heart of why we gather as a network. In our busyness and planning for the future how can we turn our attention to Jesus?

Leaving space for God to do the miracle
This can be a busy time of year for us all with lots of meetings and pulling together plans for the year ahead. I hope you can build in some time to rest and get refreshed too. (Why do we still seem to follow the academic year schedule, even after leaving school I wonder?!)
I am writing this after recently attending my first Global Connections Council meeting (a wonderful group of leaders from across the network who offer their wisdom and experience for the good of the whole). We were very kindly hosted by the Evangelical Alliance at their building in Kings Cross and had a few hours reflecting on the feedback we have received from many of you, through our recent listening exercise (we will share the report from that shortly!).
We also spent time drawing on some of the discussions at the Lausanne congress (again, more on how we hope to pick up some of those conversations together soon). The humility demonstrated and the desire to serve the wider kingdom spoke to the heart behind why we gather as a network. Thank you all for being part of that. It feels like there is so much potential contained in that simple choice to walk and journey together.
I know I can often look down at what I see in my hands, just as the boy who held the two fish and five loaves and think ‘What can I ever achieve with this?’ It can feel negative, but perhaps there is an upside? Could we use the acknowledgement of our weaknesses and limitations, to turn our attention to Jesus? If we were to offer Him our all, however small we perceive it, with open hands, might it then leave space for Him to do the miracle!?
In our busyness of planning for the future, where we can feel the temptation to cross every t and dot every i, how can we still leave space for God to do a new ‘miracle’?
I would love to learn how you do that in your context.
