We are excited to invite you to our 2025 Charity Law Update on Thursday 27th November (10:30am-12:00pm) where we will delve into the latest developments in charity law and regulatory compliance with Esther Campsall and Ben Pumphrey of Anthony Collins Solicitors.
During this session, Esther and Ben will guide us through:
- Charity Commission updated guidance on:
- internal financial controls for charities and protecting against fraud;
- protecting charities from cyber-crime;
- paying trustees or a connected person; and.
- finding and appointing new trustees.
- The Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023 - requirements around verifying the identity of directors and persons with significant control.
- Recent amendments to the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 - making use of the “soft opt-in” rule under PECR when sending out marketing material for fundraising purposes or to promote charitable work.
- Subject Access Requests - changes introduced by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025.
- Employment Rights Bill 2024 - brief overview of key provisions.
- New preventative duty to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace.
- Trustees and whistleblowing.
