Praise God we have just welcomed seven new girls to the home. Please pray as we are starting to renovate one of older buildings which will enable us to house even more girls - giving them a loving and safe home, whilst providing education and health care.
Please pray for the Dohnavur Fellowship, they have recently welcomed some new girls to the home and are looking at different ways to expand their outreach to be able to help more children and families. We thank God for the provision of a new ambulance, electric car to help transport the elderly Accals around the campus, an electric buggy to move food and supplies, and a new tractor for the farm.
Please pray for the Dohnavur Fellowship, they have recently welcomed some new girls to the home, and are looking at different ways to expand thier outreach to be able to help more children and families. We thank God for the provision of a new Ambulance, electric car to help transport the elderly Accals around the campus, an electic buggy to move food and supplies, and a new tractor for the farm.
Please pray for the Dohnavur Fellowship, who are currently looking at new ways to reach out to their local community, and exploring options to fund these new projects that will continue to help those in poverty and need in rural India.
We need to upgrade our hospital facilities with new machines and infrastructure. There has been an increase in attendance at the Outpatients clinics, and also our Inpatients Ward is very popular as patients appreciate the loving care they are given. Please pray for the new cohort of students at our School of Nursing, as well as the new tutor, that they may all work hard and stay the course successfully. Pray for our Guest Relations Team who cater for the needs of hundreds of visitors wishing to see Amy Carmichael's legacy.
The ongoing renovation of a previously disused building to provide a bespoke home for our elderly folk who have served in the Fellowship. At present they are living in various parts of the compound but really need to be housed in a retirement home with suitable facilities. Costs of materials are continually increasing, and it is not easy to find reliable and skilled workmen to carry out the renovations. The appointment of a finance officer and other employees from outside the Fellowship is a new step and such changes can seem threatening. Please pray the appointments will go ahead successfully.
Girls who come to the Dohnavur Fellowship often come from very difficult and sometimes abusive homes. Pray that they may feel safe with us and that our housemothers and our visiting counsellor with the Lord's help will be able to facilitate their recovery from difficult experiences. Our hospital and home for our elderly workers are both undergoing renovation work, but it is increasingly difficult to find skilled carpenters, and temporary workmen tend to be unreliable. Please pray that the right workers will be found urgently so that work will go ahead smoothly, and the disruption caused will soon be over.
We would very much appreciate prayer for: -The renewal of various licences (including the FCRA Foreign Contributions permit) for the Children's Home to continue to operate in accordance with government requirements. A good Northeast monsoon and cultivation of winter vegetables as well as orchard maintenance during the rainy season. The second phase of renovations for our hospital.
Please continue to pray for the renewal of the FCRA permit which allows the Dohnavur Fellowship to receive funding from overseas. Please pray for the renewal of the Income Tax Exemption certificate
Pray for the housemothers who care for groups of girls of varying ages, with the intention of providing a 'family' environment. The children cared for these days are often from single parents who are unable to provide for them, but to whom they will return eventually and, once educated and able to earn a living, will be able to help their birth family. This is different from the situation of the past, when our housemothers looked after orphans, who then always had that special 'family' bond with them.
Please pray for the renewal of our overseas funding permit, as well as income tax exemption. We would value continued prayer for the project to adapt old buildings into a modern residential home for the elderly. Pray for protection from pests and birds, especially peacocks, and for the vegetables and fruit grown on our organic farm.
