Uganda

Pray for children struggling with health needs, particularly in Uganda. Pray for equity and justice for children with disabilities living in poor communities across Uganda. Pray for more advocates for children with disabilities, including more support groups in Uganda.
Give thanks that Wakisa Ministries has found a new Director, Paula, so that Vivian can step back from some of her day-to-day duties and take on more of an ambassadorial role. Praise God for Fatuma and Nabadda from Wakisa’s sponsorship programme, who were both recently accepted into university to study Bachelor degrees in Business.
Pray for the Work of Global Care in Uganda. Pray for children and young people struggling with disabilities and continued efforts to develop peer led disability support groups. Pray also for progress with plans to develop girls’ clubs in rural Rukungiri, helping them to success and flourish with their education, and give vulnerable girls hope and a brighter future.
Pray for Wakisa Ministries in Uganda as they face rising operational costs and hospital bills for the girls. Pray for God's guidance and abundant provision.
BMS World Mission workers with our Ugandan partner, Justice Livelihoods Health (JLH) to help bring abundant life to people in Kasese and Gulu. BMS mission worker Benon Kayanja is seconded to JLH as Executive Director. Pray for wisdom as he directs the overall strategy, the management of strategic partnerships and the administration of day-to-day operations. BMS mission worker Genesis Acaye is seconded to JLH as Agricultural Projects Co-ordinator for northern Uganda. Pray that he would show patience and the love of God as he trains farmers to increase yields.
Termites have been a particular problem, eating tree roots and hindering the spread of agroforestry pilot projects in Gulu in 2021 and 2022. Pray for a sustainable solution to improve the survival rate of young trees this year.
WEC’s team in Burundi ran a conference this year to equip pastors from across East Africa to inspire and prepare their church members for cross-cultural mission. Some of the participants had travelled for several days to take part; water and electricity had not yet been connected where they were staying but they enjoyed walking together to the host church each day. Alongside Stephen and Aloys, many of those teaching were from other African organisations and NGOs, demonstrating a genuine partnership with WEC’s ACTS13 mobilising ministry.
Please pray for increased inclusion for families affected by disability in UGANDA, struggling with a toxic ‘triple whammy’ of poverty, disability and stigma. Pray for Global Care’s local Ugandan partners and the Disability Action Groups they are helping to establish, providing peer support and advocacy to families affected by disability, creating change in their own communities.
Pray for Africa following Al Massira’s recent face to face gathering in Sierra Leone where 15 African nations were present. The Gospel is being shared through the AM resources in several languages. Two fruitful trainings have just taken place in Tanzania, and others in Uganda, Mozambique and another coming up in Kenya early in 2023. Pray for Holy Spirit power, courage, and wisdom for the Persecuted Church, particularly in Nigeria. May the faithful team there and across Africa know the presence, power, and peace of the King as He loves and leads them forward to advance His Kingdom across Africa!
Join LIA in prayer for our programme country, Uganda. We praise God for improvement and stability in the national Education system post pandemic. Pray that supplies and finance for school fees would be provided for those children with greatest need. Thankful that Uganda is relatively peaceful, although extreme economic hardship is encouraging and increasing tensions and criminal behaviour. Pray for creative ideas, vision as they seek to use their resources well, work hard, and invest in their futures. Pray that God will guard our programmes for sustainability and lasting change among those in need, for the sake of his Kingdom.
CRANE, Viva’s partner network in Kampala, Uganda, catalyses 200 churches and organisations to work together to change the lives of children under three main focus areas: safe spaces, families and education. Give thanks that in spite of schools being closed due to Covid lockdowns for almost two years, data shows that children on the programme progressed three times faster than expected this year. Pray that parents, church leaders and others from the community who have received training from CRANE would put their learning into practice so that children’s lives are radically improved.
