We are witnessing amazing work of our Lord in our midst as He is bringing a few new people to our church family. Pray for their growth in Christ and that they will be rooted in the family life of the church. Also, we have a few new contacts – spiritual seekers who are interested to know more about Jesus. Pray for Peter that God will open his heart.
A young lady was baptised in our church in July. We praise God for her public testimony and proclamation of her faith in Jesus. We pray that other unbaptised believers get the courage from her baptism to express their faith publicly. We praise the Lord for the four-day Camp for children of our church and the surrounding area. More than 40 children came to be blessed by hearing God's Word every day. Pray for their parents to get interested in the Lord as they heard the Gospel while visiting their children at the camp.
Praise the Lord for a special, blessed, and productive time in Ukraine. We have fulfilled our objectives for this trip and have connected well with many people, especially some of the team members in the Irpin church plants and here in Lviv with the New Hope team. Please continue praying for the situation in Ukraine.
Please pray as Jesus instructed in Luke 10 v 2: "The harvest is plentiful” (more than 700 million people in Europe don’t know Jesus) "but the workers are few” (our mission has only around 250 workers). "Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field please pray for more missionaries.
We thank God for several people who have contacted the church in recent months wanting to know more about Jesus. People show up out of "nowhere”. Pray that they will grow to be faithful disciples of Jesus and become powerful witnesses for the Gospel! As new people show up, others are being attacked in their walk with Jesus. Pray that we will stand firm and be able to support one another.
Please pray for the new church plant in Novi Marof as we evangelise and seek to find and reach the lost. Pray for a good start. Pray also for the preaching, children's work and worship at a nearby church plant on Sunday evenings in Zagreb. We also seek to encourage the young pastor and his wife.
Praise God for our social centre here in Germany. In the last years, the Lord blessed us with many people who came to believe in Him. This spiritually empty place is now a growing Christian community. We see from God that it is time for us, as missionaries, to give leadership to the local people. We want to select a small group of leaders and train them. Please pray that God will bless this challenging and exciting process.
This new journey of being a disciple-making community isn’t easy, and we are taking baby steps. We praise God for bringing a stranger to our home because, one Saturday, there was a knock at the door, and a lady from the far side of the street just turned up while we had a Bible study, and she stayed and joined in. Please pray for God’s faithfulness and for miracles to keep happening.
Please pray for K in Finland. Please pray for the inhabitants of Inari. Recently two brothers went on a two-day drive to offer Christian magazines in Finnish and music CDs with spiritual songs in Saami at each house they passed. Everywhere, except at one house, they were turned away. One man put it this strongly: "Don't waste your time. All of us here are devils." Pray that Christ, the Light of the world, may start to shine in these people’s lives.
Since September, we have been working with a young man called M, who had come to our church after issues with drugs and family dysfunction. Things still prove difficult; please pray for the power of the gospel and God's practical provision in his life.
David's visit to Ukraine was incredibly moving, challenging and inspiring. The workers in Lviv were very weary: rolling power cuts and frequent air raids had taken their toll on the team. However, they continue serving the Lord faithfully in many different ways. Just one example: following an air raid with a direct strike on electrical infrastructure that left 90% of the city without power, the team ran a children’s Christmas camp within two hours of this happening. GOD IS GOOD
