Broadcasting to a mainly Buddhist population, where evangelism is very hard, Gawelyon Radio’s programmes CDs and literature help listeners consider social and spiritual change, as well as offering practical advice and teaching about the Christian faith. Over the Christmas season, the team will be broadcasting a series of special, gospel-based programmes. Please pray that hearts will be open to hear the good news of our saviour Jesus and the purpose of His coming to earth. (John 12 v 46)
Despite the war, our partner FEBC Ukraine is continuing to broadcast the gospel across the country. As we consider the birth of Jesus and recall how God entered the world in the humblest circumstances, we lift up our Christian brothers and sisters in Ukraine who are facing unimaginable hardship as winter sets in. Pray for God's protection over the energy, internet and water supplies. Pray that nothing would stop the team at FEBC Ukraine from serving their listeners and continuing to bring good news 'that will cause great joy for all the people'. (Luke 2 v 10)bus tours for Russian-speaking Jewish migrants in Israel. These tours are extremely popular - news of them is spread among the Jewish community by word of mouth and increasing numbers are attending. Please pray that many Jewish people will be saved through these Bible studies and evangelistic tours.
In an area where sharing the gospel is dangerous, we praise God for the huge increase in people responding to the daily programmes on medium and shortwave radio. Please pray for the listeners, especially those who have suffered the loss of homes, livelihoods and family members in the wake of recent widespread flooding. Also please pray for listeners who are facing serious security threats, human rights abuses and harsh restrictions from those in authority in the region. (2 Corinthians 4 v 8 - 12)
Ravi* and Akaash* were so blessed by listening to the Udaan (‘Fly high’) radio programme that they each decided to set up a listener group to give others the opportunity to listen and discuss the content. Please pray that many would be added to these new listener groups and discover freedom in Christ from addictions and bad habits. (Philippians 4 v 13). * name changed.
Using FM radio, social networks, smartphone apps, and web broadcasting, our partner, FEBC Ukraine is playing a vital role in sharing God's word and praying for people over the airwaves while also providing practical support to listeners traumatised by the conflict. Please pray for Iryna who coordinates the counselling team. She carries a huge weight of responsibility as the demand for counselling continues to increase at an extraordinary rate. She has almost been killed twice in different attacks during the war. (Isaiah 40 v 29)
Our ministry partner reaches a Central Asian Tribal Group, broadcasting culturally relevant programmes addressing topics including family, health, faith and discipleship in a region that is almost exclusively Muslim. Earlier this year, two team members and their families received death threats. Overnight they had to leave their homes in the city and relocate to a safe place in the country. Since then, God has kept them safe and provided them with opportunities and resources to settle in another city and continue with their ministries. Please pray for God's continued protection over them and their families. (1 Peter 3 v 13 - 16)
In a country where evangelism is not welcomed, Gaweylon Radio broadcasts to a mainly Buddhist population. We give thanks for the God-given opportunities to broadcast Gaweylon programmes three days a week on shortwave radio to people living in areas that are largely unreached by the gospel. Please pray that the reception will continue to be clear and easily received by listeners, despite the fact the signal has to cover a very large area, including the mountainous region of Tibet. (Mark 16:15)
Working alongside other Christian partners, the Feba Pakistan team is developing the use of community radio to speak to the needs of their own communities, helping to reduce fear and bring hope to local people. Please pray for the follow-up teams who engage with different audiences via shortwave and FM radio, Facebook and other social media platforms and websites. Ask the Lord for His patience, guidance, and love as they gently listen and offer wise counsel and godly advice. Please pray for more opportunities to help people discover a saving faith in Jesus Christ.
Feba Pakistan operates and broadcasts in an environment where there is insecurity and the constant threat of violence. The team is helping to address local issues and change attitudes in Pakistan by training local broadcasters. Please pray for creativity and inspiration for the production teams, artists and writers as they work together to communicate the Gospel message effectively and sensitively through a variety of platforms and broadcast media. Pray that the message of hope will reach the hearts of all those listening and engaging with the team.
Feba partner RMB in Bangladesh is using shortwave radio to reach out to those exploring the Christian faith. In June, Bangladesh experienced some of the worst floods on record. Many roads have been destroyed and there continue to be widespread power cuts. Hundreds of thousands have lost their homes, cattle, crops and livelihoods. Many listeners are contacting RMB Radio for help and asking for financial assistance to repair their homes. Please pray for team at RMB responding to callers and trying to give as much practical and spiritual support as possible in the midst of this extremely challenging situation.
