Event Details
Parenting has never been easy - and today’s digital world adds a new level of complexity. From social media to emerging technologies such as AI, children are navigating spaces that are fast-moving, influential, and often difficult to fully understand. Many parents are left wondering how best to support, guide, and protect their children online.
Join us on Thursday 15th October 2026, 10:30am - 12:30pm (online) for a practical and reassuring session designed to support parents and those working with families.
We will explore key online safeguarding risks, including grooming and the impact of AI in social media, while equipping you with clear, principle-based approaches to parenting in a digital world:
- Be informed - understand online contact, conduct, and content
- Be intentional - explore effective parenting approaches
- Be together - build open, trusting conversations
- Be the example - model healthy digital habits
We will also consider how TCK’s experience can add extra layers of complexity, and reflect on how feelings such as isolation, loneliness, grief and loss, and questions of identity and belonging can sometimes shape how TCKs might seek meaning, connection, and relationships online.
During this online event, Sarah McBride (Thirtyone:eight) and Kate Duroux (Care for the Family), will share their experience to help you feel more confident in supporting parents as they navigate today’s online environment. There will also be time for discussion, questions, and shared learning.
Who is this event for: Mission agency staff working in member care and mission partners working with children or with children of their own.
Date: Thursday 15th October 2026
