Latest Prayers by BMS World Mission

Pray that the current and future hopes of the Lebanese people will be focus on the Prince of Peace. Pray that the Lebanese Church will be always ready to share the good news of the gospel.

Pray for the women of Afghanistan. Many are suffering with depression and other mental health issues. Pray that many women would find support throughout Afghan partner’s mental health and livelihood groups.

As the war in Ukraine continues into a fourth year, we pray for the Ukrainian Baptist Union and the hundreds of churches it supports, helping displaced Ukrainians maintain hope and a sense of purpose.

Praise God for the encouragement that our new partner workers are receiving from churches in the UK. Workers like Wissam Nasrallah in Lebanon greatly value these new connections and faithful prayers in challenging times.

Pray for BMS World Mission-supported worker Sumeet Nath as he leads the Baptist Church Trust Association (BCTA) based in Delhi. Pray for wisdom as Sumeet manages Baptist properties across many states in India. Pray for the witness of historic BMS partners, who are part of the BCTA. Pray especially for the new leadership of the Bengal Baptist Union and for the witness of the Baptist Union of North India.

Pray for Ben and Gill Francis as they serve at one of BMS World Mission’s partners in India. Pray for Ben as he trains church planters and oversees outreach work in Kolkata. Pray that Gill would have energy and wisdom as she oversees the administration and management of BMS’ partner.

With over 1,400 house churches established in Uttar Pradesh, Kashmir and Odisha (formerly Orissa) in India in 2022, we want the 107 church planters BMS supports to continue their ministry. Please pray for the £74,000 needed to continue this work. 

Greece and Cyprus have had to bear an inequitable share of bearing up the lives of those fleeing their home countries. Pray that BMS and All4Aid will help advocate to make Greece and Cyprus fairer places for people on the move and to keep their plight high on the agenda of European nations. Give thanks for the safe space for women and girls that BMS partner All4Aid provides on Lesbos, Greece. Pray that as well as being able to shower, wash clothes, pick up essential items and chat, the centre users would experience a deep sense of God’s love.

Please pray for a general election in Chad. This has been postponed many times due to a climate of instability. Pray that God will use those who know his name to speak out and to bring justice.

North Korea is prone to typhoons and flooding around this time of year. Please pray for this year’s crops to grow well, and that there would be sufficient food for all.

The democratic hopes of the Tunisian Revolution in 2011 seem distant as the current President acts independently, leading to political and voter frustration. Pray that the fallibility of politicians and systems will encourage people to be open when they hear witness to the infallibility of God.
