Pray that the current and future hopes of the Lebanese people will be focus on the Prince of Peace. Pray that the Lebanese Church will be always ready to share the good news of the gospel.
With over 1,400 house churches established in Uttar Pradesh, Kashmir and Odisha (formerly Orissa) in India in 2022, we want the 107 church planters BMS supports to continue their ministry. Please pray for the £74,000 needed to continue this work.
Greece and Cyprus have had to bear an inequitable share of bearing up the lives of those fleeing their home countries. Pray that BMS and All4Aid will help advocate to make Greece and Cyprus fairer places for people on the move and to keep their plight high on the agenda of European nations. Give thanks for the safe space for women and girls that BMS partner All4Aid provides on Lesbos, Greece. Pray that as well as being able to shower, wash clothes, pick up essential items and chat, the centre users would experience a deep sense of God’s love.
Please pray for a general election in Chad. This has been postponed many times due to a climate of instability. Pray that God will use those who know his name to speak out and to bring justice.
North Korea is prone to typhoons and flooding around this time of year. Please pray for this year’s crops to grow well, and that there would be sufficient food for all.
The democratic hopes of the Tunisian Revolution in 2011 seem distant as the current President acts independently, leading to political and voter frustration. Pray that the fallibility of politicians and systems will encourage people to be open when they hear witness to the infallibility of God.
Termites have been a particular problem, eating tree roots and hindering the spread of agroforestry pilot projects in Gulu in 2021 and 2022. Pray for a sustainable solution to improve the survival rate of young trees this year.
Praise God that BMS’ partnership with the Thailand Karen Baptist Convention (TKBC) has enabled the training and sending of women evangelists to plant churches. Pray God’s wisdom for BMS workers Paul and Sarah Brown as they work with TKBC.
Please lift up the nation of Sudan after fighting between military factions began just over a week ago. We pray that God's peace will abound in this nation, and that ceasefires will hold. Please pray for those fleeing the violence, both local people and foreign nationals. Pray for protection on their journeys, that they will find safety and welcome wherever they are led to. Lord we cry out to you for the nation of Sudan, we thank you that you're in control and we pray that your mercy and peace will be known to all here.
BMS World Mission’s partner the Federation of French Evangelical Baptist Churches (FEEBF) finished their annual congress yesterday. Pray that as delegates return to their communities, they will be able to carry out their new commitments so that more lives will be reached with the love of Christ. Pray too that in a time of so much uncertainty and darkness across the world, God will use FEEBF to spread his light and hope across France.
Nepal is very hot in May, when people, especially in rural areas, can struggle for clean drinking water. Please pray that monsoon rains will quickly replenish supplies, but that those same rains would not be so harsh as to cause fatal floods and landslides. Please pray for BMS World Mission workers Alan and Megan Barker as they continue to support BMS’ partners, both in Nepal and further afield, while also keeping up with their various other roles within Nepal.
