28-30 June Give thanks for Pavement Club in Kolkata, India. Please pray: for children accessing informal education through Pavement Club, that they engage with the lessons provided and for attitudes to education in the slum communities to change.

21-27 June pray for our work in India – where we sponsor more than 50 vulnerable children. Please pray for our sponsored children, who face many social, emotional and financial barriers to learning - that they would thrive at school

14-20 June pray for our work in Zambia. Pray for: safe travel for UK staff travelling on 20 June to Zambia. For a fruitful and encouraging visit to the team. For the children we support in Zambia as our partners help them overcome many challenges.

7-13 June pray for our project with SKD Guatemala keeping children off the streets. Please pray: Development of the Casa Club premises, for the safety and thriving of many vulnerable children, for the team as they care for and guide these children.

This week is Volunteers Week in the UK. Give thanks and pray for our charity shops and volunteers. Pray for the hardworking volunteers across operations, admin and fundraising. Pray for our trustees who oversee and guide the work of Global Care.

This final week, we pray for the International Day of UN Peacekeepers is on 29 May. This week, we pray for our projects where peace is fragile or non-existent. Please pray for: - our work in Myanmar where children face increased conflict and ethnic violence from their own government - our work in Syria, where children traumatised by war receive therapy as well as education - for our partners in South Sudan, where tribal warfare throws vulnerable lives into chaos again and again.

This third week, we pray for our work in Uganda, which Head of Operations Steve Wicking hopes to visit (18-24). Please pray for: - safety and good health during Steve’s trip and no travel disruptions / flight cancellations - wisdom and inspiration for country manager David - health and safety for all our sponsored children, for education to break generational cycles of poverty and disadvantage - continued development of work with children with disabilities, and vocational training.

This second week, give thanks for our partners, the GCare Foundation, and their unwavering commitment to Dalit children in Patripul, India. Please pray for: - opportunities and fair access to education for children in Patripul - safety for Dalit girls, often disregarded even by their families - protection for the staff and GCare Centres against higher caste groups opposing their work - wisdom and energy for Director Simon and managers Mahendra and Manisha.

At the beginning of May, we pray for our partners in Ethiopia and their work with marginalised communities. Please pray for: - the new classrooms at Walito Sodo, which are almost completed, giving thanks that the team could do more with the budget than originally envisioned - our successful Wells for Women Farmers initiative - pray an application to expand this project is successful - wisdom for our partners as they consider other ways they can support vulnerable children.

This final week we pray for our partners at Spurgeons Academy, providing quality education to children of Kibera, Kenya’s biggest slum. Please pray for: - wisdom for the board and staff, as they work so hard to secure a better future for their students - personal stability and academic progress for children at the school - families struggling with high prices, unstable employment, low income, loss and abandonment - God’s provision for more resources to support the work of Spurgeons Academy.

This forth week we give thanks for work delivered through our Children At Risk fund, helping us act in times of crisis, deliver planned interventions and start new initiatives. Please pray for: - helping domestic violence victims and HIV+ children in Sri Lanka - medicine and food provided for school children in South Sudan - improved facilities at a preschool in Bangladesh - delivery of urgent medical help for children worldwide - all the donors who support our Children At Risk programme.
